Meet the Team - Joe Astley
Joe Astley, Sales Specialist at Poole Audi, has recently achieved the prestigious Audi New and Used Car Sales Executive Accreditation with a top score of 100%. This accreditation recognises Joe's commitment to excellence in customer service, product knowledge, and adapting to the rapidly evolving landscape of the automotive industry, particularly in the growing sector of electric vehicles.
The Audi accreditation involves an extensive process of online training modules, webinars, and a two-day course at Audi’s Learning Centre, Think Vorsprung, in Milton Keynes. Joe also underwent rigorous knowledge checks and completed a final assessment through role-playing scenarios, focusing on providing tailored solutions to customers and guiding them through the sales process, including finance proposals.
David Elms, General Sales Manager at Poole Audi, praised Joe's rapid progress: "Considering that Joe has only been with Poole Audi for just over three months, it's remarkable that he passed his accreditation in such a short period of time with a top score of 100%. This is the fastest time I've ever seen someone get accredited (in sales) in the 11 years I've been at Poole Audi, and to get top marks is truly an amazing result. Well done Joe, this is an example to everyone of what's possible when you apply yourself."
Reflecting on the achievement, Joe remarked, "The accreditation has not only enhanced my product knowledge, particularly regarding electric vehicles, but also unlocked opportunities for further specialisation, such as becoming an Audi Sport Specialist. It helps ensure I’m giving customers the best experience possible."
Having started at Poole Audi in mid-May 2024, this is Joe’s first experience in the automotive industry. Prior to joining, he worked in IT sales and management for nine years but sought a career shift to combine his passion for cars with his sales expertise. Joe's enthusiasm for cars stems from his family's history in rallying, and he is particularly fond of performance vehicles like the 1985 Audi Quattro S1 Group B rally car and the modern Audi RS3 saloon.
Since joining Poole Audi, Joe has been impressed by the supportive and professional atmosphere among his colleagues, which has helped him transition smoothly into the new industry. Looking ahead, Joe plans to continue expanding his expertise and is focused on excelling in his role.
A fun fact about Joe is his impressive athletic background of having trained in track and field from a young age. He was once on course to compete in the 400 metres at the London 2012 Olympics before injuries curtailed his career.
